Man Finds 40k Painting At His Own Garage Sale

Many people have heard this type of story before, but most of the time it sounds like some sort of fantasy. How could something so valuable be hidden right under a person’s nose? Well, the reality is that many time times people do not realize the true value of some of their belongings, particularly when it comes to antiques, rare, or unique items. Yes, many people will hold onto their Spider-Man comics in the hopes of one day retiring on their future sale, but the fact is that without a trained eye and strong knowledge of what is actually valuable on the market, a person is not likely going to make any money from the things that they store away in their attic. More often than not, the items that people own that are actually of significant value are not even recognized or considered as valuable by that person.

Experts Have The Eye And The Experience

When someone has a garage sale, it is usually because they have a lot of extra things or they want to make a little bit of extra cash on the side. They may spend hours hauling everything out to their lawn or driveway, just to make a couple of hundred dollars, if they are lucky, by the end of the day. However what they may not realize is that they could have actually sold something of much greater value without even knowing it. Any person with some knowledge of antiquities or other coveted items could walk up to a garage sale and get the deal of their lives on something that is worth far more than the owner ever realized. This is because most people are not trained to know the true value of an antique hutch or the true origins of an old painting that was passed down from their parents. This results in all types of terrible transactions where the owner of something special doesn’t get what they really deserve for it.

This is why it is so important call in estate liquidators before a person has a garage sale. Estate liquidators are experienced and knowledgeable about all kinds of valuable objects and rare items. They also know how much it could sell for at an auction or to the right buyer and they have the connections to make it happen. There are many stories of people selling away a one-of-a-kind item for only a few dollars when it was really worth thousands, but this can be avoided by calling someone that can properly evaluate a property and its contents. This could be the difference between $200 at a garage sale and $40,000 at auction.

End Of The Year Cleaning And Discovery

There comes a point at the end of the year, when people start to clean their homes and rid themselves of the clutter that has built up. While there is great satisfaction in having a clean and clear home, this can also be a risky time of year for the unknowing victims of the purge. There are many cases of people throwing extremely valuable items into the trash. Special or unique items that could have sold for thousands at California auctions, ends up on the curb to fall apart in the rain or get carried off by someone else. Most of the time, this goes by unnoticed, but occasionally, someone will find themselves antique shopping and realize that they $10,000 dining room table that they are looking at is the same one that they threw away last year. This can be heart-breaking and embarrassing as it is really represents a missed opportunity that was lost in the end of the year cleaning.

Don’t Throw Out Something Of Extraordinary Value

Although people want to enjoy a clean home, it is very important to carefully consider every item before it is tossed to the wayside. Many people would be shocked to discover that the old, ‘tacky’ painting in the living room is actually a classic and valuable painting from a respected artist. The items that are of extreme value are not always recognizable to every person. Particularly when something has been sitting around for a long time, people tend to lose their regard for it and begin to perceive it as clutter. California auctions are packed with items that are extremely valuable, but for many of them, the original owner will never see a dime because they decided to throw it away or sell it for a few dollars at last year’s garage sale.

It is not always the owner’s fault, but sometimes a careless wife or ignorant husband will toss something away while they are cleaning, only to discover their mistake when it is too late. However, this can be avoided if care is taken when getting rid of antique furniture, old paintings, and other odd objects. People have a tendency of taking things at face value, but when their is historic significance or artistic integrity encapsulated in an item, it is not always as obvious to the untrained eye. This is why it can be extremely valuable to bring in an expert on antiquities to look over the items that a person wants to get rid of. It is not necessary to keep the grandfather clock in the hallway, but if it is going to be removed, the owner should at least get the value that it is worth for it.

Diamond’s Are Everyone’s Best Friend

While some may think that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, the truth is that they are valued and coveted by everyone. Diamonds are more than just a stone, they are a symbol of love and a rare creation gifted to humanity from the depths of the earth. This makes them wildly valuable to many people all around the world and there have been entire industries built around the retrieval and sharing of these precious concentrated crystalline creations of carbon. They are the hardest naturally formed substance known to humanity and there is a rich history of desire behind every single diamond.

Stunning Beauty Contained Within A Stone

At the most basic level of appreciation, diamonds are simply stunning. They are a masterful natural creation that requires an immense force and billions of years to create. Although people have attempted to replicate this process, it is impossible to truly capture the majesty and beauty of a naturally formed diamond. There is nothing else like a diamond that has ever been discovered on the planet and this gives it a value that can never be accurately evaluated. People can compare one diamond to the next, but attempting to compare a diamond to anything else will never accurately describe the beauty contained within one.

A Symbol Of Love

Part of what has made diamonds so meaningful and valuable is that they are a symbol of love. Just as love is rare and precious, so is a diamond. If there was ever anything that a diamond could be compared with, it is the feeling that we attribute to love. People will spend thousands of dollars at art auctions to get a diamond that acts a gesture of their love for someone special. However, neither the diamond that they give nor the love that they feel is accurately valued. Both are immeasurable beyond any comparison and each is unique unto itself. That being said, the gift of a diamond is the closest a person can come to measuring the intangible qualities of love.

Value Shared Across The World

No matter the location, a diamond is always valuable. Currencies rise and fall in value, objects rise and fall in desire, but a diamond is always valuable due to its inherent rarity and the intensive processes that go into creating one. There are no two diamonds that are exactly alike, so each one is a rare gift that can be appreciated by anyone. A person can take a diamond to art auctions anywhere in the world and they will receive a price that reflects the beauty and rarity of each one. No one can ever say that a diamond is not valuable because there really is nothing else like one.
